FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE 9/14/08
RUTLAND VT
Vermont Rally™
transitioning to non-profit corporation
The Vermont Rally™ held June
6, 7, and 8 of 2008 at the Vermont State
Fairgrounds was largely hailed as an
organizational success - especially in
light of the scope of this first ever
event. The event featured a wide range
of Powersport events and vendors,
benefit rides, community events, craft and
food vendors, and 25 live bands.
On-site camping was also available.
For Vermont Rally™ founder, Dirk
Nakazawa, his family, and a core group of
leaders the investment associated
with producing the event was substantial.
They have decided to offer that
investment to the community in the form of a
new, non-profit corporation to
be created by interested parties.
A meeting will be held at Denny's on
South Main Street on Monday, September
22, at 6:30pm and anyone with an
interest in the project is invited to
attend. Specifically, organizers hope
to attract individuals that can bring
resources to the project whether
intellectual or financial. Key people with
skills to serve as board members
and officers are sought to further define
the project mission and move it
ahead in future years.

.
Vermont Rally™ was conceived in the Spring of 2007 in an effort to become a must stop for those making the trip between Americade and Laconia while at the same time providing visiting area guests and locals with quality Vermont grown entertainment, arts and crafts, and services. One of the main goals of the project is to foster community. As such, this is a family friendly event. The Vermont Rally is presented by 101.5 The Fox, Atomic Pro Audio, and Central Vermont Motorcycles.

A new website has been launched for The Vermont Rally at www.vermontrally.com. The site, developed by webkewl of Rutland VT, utilizes an open source Content Management System called "Joomla!" which allows a collaborative effort in the publishing of the site as the project matures. As Joomla! is highly extensible, features will be added to the site as need dictates. The current launch includes basic information about the event for the public, and a variety of tools to help event planners communicate behind the scenes. |

WHOA! What a ride...
While the first Vermont Rally™ in 2008 was largely hailed as a
community success, it represented a huge drain on investors and organizers.
In meetings at the end of the summer and early fall of 2008, it
started becoming apparent that neither the financial or intellectual
investment that was available for the initial event would be available for a
2009 event.
Then came the economic downturn which pretty much put a nail
in any hopes to produce a similar event in 2009.
So.... there will be
no Vermont Rally™ in 2009. If you have an interest in seeing the event happen
in 2010, and can bring either a financial or intellectual investment to the
table, please contact us! Whether you can bring seed
money to begin the planning of a 2010 event, or your organizational/sales
skills, we would love to be able to produce the event again, and these are
the types of assets needed.
Thanks to everyone for the huge effort
expended on the 2008 event, and we hope to see you all again in 2010. In the meantime, your continued support of this benefit ride that first launched from last years' event would be greatly appreciated!
